Coach Gray Gaines
My name is Gray Gaines! Originally from Greenville, SC, I moved down to Columbia to go to the University of South Carolina. During my years there I studied a variety of classes that took me all around the world. I graduated with a degree in International Studies and a minor in Sport and Entertainment.
From a young age, I always knew I wanted to make the world a better place — whether it was saving the sharks, fighting poverty and hunger, or enriching lives through sport & music. How about three dream jobs?! I never knew my life would lead to helping people through fitness. In 2019, I made a serious commitment and got my Personal Training certification and it was into the real world I went. I am currently working towards my strength and conditioning certification, as well as my nutrition certification. I truly love to learn. My philosophy in training is this: “if I can help you to learn be confident in your strength and to love you, I’ve done my job.”
I teach clients that appearance goals are never the only goal. I want to teach you the appreciation of movement, appreciation of foods that make you feel good, and appreciation of your own capabilities. Happy is the route. Happy is always HEALTHY.

Coach Steven King
Originally from Fort Wayne Indiana, I’ve been in South Carolina now for most of my life. Primarily split between Columbia and Charleston. After high school I moved to Charleston to pursue being a chef. A journey that I enjoyed greatly, but took an unfortunate physical toll. I had overcome being an obese teenager, peak weight was around 310lbs, only to let my physique and health slide while focusing on culinary arts. This was a turning point in my life. After some lifestyle changes and some personal reflection I decided to go back to school to study Exercise Science.
After graduating from the College of Charleston I stayed on as a fitness coordinator and volunteer strength coach fpr a few years before transitioning to the private sector. I've since worked with everyone from high school and college athletes to bodybuilders and powerlifters. I’ve come to focus primarily on strength athletics and bodybuilding over the years. I enjoy the environment and people that thrive in this community as well as the challenges I face in creating effective personalized programming for my athletes. I myself have competed in amatuer mma, brazilian jiu jitsu, bodybuilding, and to this day compete in powerlifting. Competition is a part of me that won't easily die.
Over the past 22 years I have had the chance to learn from some the greatest in the industry. Guys like Ed Coan, Chuck Vogelpohl, Marc “Spud” Bartley, Donnie Thompson, Vic Tringali, and Dr. Timothy Scheett to name a few. I’m excited for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned on a larger platform, and help more people reach their goals. Let’s train hard, smart, and grow together.
